Malik detained, Clashes erupt in Maisuma | KNO

Srinagar, December 17 (KNO) : Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik was on Monday detained after he tried to march towards Badami Bagh here on the call given by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. Notably, Malik went into hiding on Saturday after JRL called for a march towards Badami Bagh against the civilian killings in Pulwama. Meanwhile, Malik according to KNO correspondent tried to march towards Badami Bagh during which a large contingent of police and paramilitary troopers detained him on way at Maisuma Bund. Besides, clashes erupted between youth and forces in the area following his detention here during which forces used tear gas canisters to disperse the youth.(KNO)
